Welcome President Barack Obama

Yeah this is pretty much the epitome of happiness. Congratulations President Obama! I toast you and the American people sir.

Tonight I am more proud of my country than I have ever been in my 20 years on this Earth. To all those in Grant Park tonight, enjoy yourselves and be sure to take lots of pictures. I need to live vicariously through you.

You are witnessing history in the making.

To those who did not vote for President Obama, I ask that you can put it aside and let us work together to be a better America for all her people. I ask that you allow him to earn your trust. This is our land, both democrat and republican. And we are stronger together than we are divided.

As for myself?

I go to bed with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.

Ah, why the Hell not.

  2. I screamed when the West Coast's votes came in and Barack won. I screamed, jumped up and down, and called my brother screaming "OBAMA WON, OH MY GOD!"

  5. X and Pink - You can still be happy even if you're not Americans.

Emily - The moment I started crying? Watching McCain's concession speech and him silencing the booing crowd. Class Act!

  6. I was also impressed with the way McCain handled the crowd. I mean, I'm all for having an opinion, but at least be respectful.

Obama's speech was amazing, I almost cried.

I really did like McCain...but Palin, ick. Too bad. But I voted for Obama and happy that he won =].

  16. I voted for Obama and I am glad he won.

I am also glad we are not facing bitterness, unnecessary recounts or any other nonsense this morning, and for that we owe McCain gratitude.

He could've been a dick about it, but he put the needs of the country first instead. That allowed the celebration to be unsullied.

I am proud to be American today because both of these candidates proved themselves yesterday.

  18. I'm SO happy too - can't get over it actually.

My son knows who he is now - and he's just 2.8. He saw his picture on the front of the NY Times in my living room, picked it up and said, "I love you, Obama" then gave him a kiss.

    Unbelievable.
